Gurava Reddy, one of Asia’s most prominent knee replacement surgeons, established the Sarvejana Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of those at the bottom of the healthcare pyramid. The Foundation’s initiatives respond to many disadvantaged people’s pain points in our country.

A road safety movement dedicated to making India’s roads safer and empowering people to follow road traffic rules for a safer commute.

With the motto of “One for Mother, One for Other”, this program provides underprivileged people the gift of mobility through life-changing knee and hip replacement surgeries at zero cost.

An initiative to bridge the gap in knowledge, expertise and access to hip treatments in India by improving hip academic research and training young surgeons.

Ms. K. Gayathri
K. Gayathri, 27, from Shadnagar, Telangana, suffered hip damage from a childhood fall and underwent multiple unsuccessful surgeries with infections. Referred to Sarvejana Foundation, she received a Right-Complex THR, fully supported by the Foundation. The surgery was successful and she is now walking with a hand stick and steadily recovering. Today, Gayathri is also working as a Data Entry Operator at CC Shroff Hospital, reflecting her renewed independence and hope.

Mr. Kanikarapu Sridhar, 27, from Ponkal, Mancherial (Telangana), suffered severe hip damage from an accident and could not afford treatment due to his poor family background. He approached Sarvejana Foundation, where he received a free Total Hip Replacement on 17-07-2024. The surgery was successful and he is now regaining mobility, engaging in bamboo craft making and steadily recovering. His story reflects the life-changing impact of timely medical care and community support.

Mr. Shaik Saida, 47, a daily wage worker from Piduguralla, Andhra Pradesh and a person living with haemophilia, had been struggling for years with severe knee pain that made him unable to walk or work. He initially approached the Haemophilia Federation (India) (HFI) for support, through which he was connected to the Sarvejana Foundation. With Sarvejana's support, he received a free Bilateral Total Knee Replacement. He is now back on his feet and supporting his family with renewed confidence.

Mrs. Harshitha, 26, from Telangana, suffered hip complications after childbirth that left her immobile and unable to care for her young children. With the support of Sarvejana Foundation, she underwent a free Right Total Hip Replacement (R-THR) on 10-01-2024. The surgery restored her mobility and today she is walking again and taking care of her family. Her story reflects the Foundation's commitment to restoring dignity and hope for young mothers.
