The Sarvejana Hip Academy for Research and Education (SHARE) is a dedicated vertical focused on advancing hip surgery education and research in India. A significant number of surgeons across the country lack adequate training, hands-on clinical experience and access to specialised facilities required for hip surgeries. Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy personally experienced this gap in knowledge and access when his daughter needed a complex hip surgery at the age of 13 but faced difficulty in finding the right treatment options.
The SHARE initiative seeks to bridge this gap between research and practice by fostering high-quality education, mentorship and infrastructure development. It also aims to build strong collaborations with reputed organisations and institutions to facilitate the exchange of expertise in hip disorder management. While SHARE’s core mission is to promote the art and science of hip surgeries, it places special emphasis on advancing care and training in paediatric hip surgery, a critically underserved area in India.
